Buddha Hand Tree

Have you seen what a Buddha Hand Citron fruit looks like?

A Buddha Hand citron fruit is segmented into finger-like sections, resembling those seen on representations of the Buddha. It is called Buddha's hand in many languages. The different variations of this citron variety form a gradient from "open-hand" types with outward segments to "closed-hand" types. The origin of this kind of citron is commonly traced back to Southeast Asia.

Most varieties of the Buddha's hand fruit contain no pulp or juice. Though it is known and famous for its "exquisite form and aroma", the Buddha's hand fruit can also be eaten (often as a zest) in desserts, savory dishes, and alcoholic beverages (such as vodka) or as “candied.” You can now find them in stores like WholeFoods and other fine Asian supermarkets. They are not cheap though!
